How Stevens Center protects information for the individuals and families we serve.

Stevens Center is committed to protecting the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of the individuals and families we serve. As a provider of services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we protect personal, health, service, and Medicaid-related information in accordance with applicable federal and North Carolina privacy, confidentiality, Medicaid, and health information requirements.

How we protect your information

Stevens Center limits access to confidential information to staff and other authorized individuals who need the information to provide services, coordinate care, process Medicaid or other payments, meet legal or regulatory requirements, or carry out authorized business functions.

We use reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or loss.

We do not sell or use confidential individual information for marketing purposes. Information is disclosed only as permitted or required by law, with appropriate authorization, or when necessary to provide or coordinate services.

Individuals and their legally authorized representatives may have rights regarding their information, including rights to access or request corrections to certain records, as provided by applicable law.
