Program Overview

The Stevens Center Independent Living Training Apartment is a realistic apartment-style space where individuals practice the skills needed for greater independence in a hands-on setting.

The space includes a bedroom, kitchen, living area, and household essentials for learning everyday routines in a safe, supportive environment.

Skills we work on

Cooking and meal preparation
Laundry, cleaning, and household care
Making a bed and organizing personal belongings
Grocery shopping, budgeting, and money management
Using household appliances
Transportation and community navigation
Other individualized independent living skills

Who is it for?

  • Available as a component of the Sanford Day Program, with opportunities to expand training outside regular day program hours.
